Last Day
Thursday, July 31st, 2008
When the early morning sun trickled slowly across my face, its gentle caress woke me. Slowly, I came to. I felt vaguely apprehensive, like something was happening today. Then I remembered.
Today was my last day at Lowewood.
How strange to think that seven years of my life were at an end. As I lay, drinking in the clear breath of the dawn air from my open window, some lines from Shakespeare came to mind…
All the world’s a stage,
And all the men and women merely players,
They have their exits and entrances,
And one man in his time plays many parts,
His acts being seven ages.
